About PCSX2
PCSX2 was the first PlayStation 2 emulator. Through continuous development, it has remained the very best one around! Game compatibility is quite high. It conveniently comes outfitted with its own plug-ins, which can be customized. PCSX2 takes a quick computer in order to run well. You may have trouble using it if you are utilizing a budget notebook or even a Windows tablet.
With other emulators you can eliminate using your computer keyboard for gameplay. However, with PCSX2 it’s pretty hard, provided the PlayStation 2 control’s mini joysticks. I strongly advise buying a gamepad for this emulator.
Don’t download PCSX2 out of their Website
The downloading of PCSX2 from the official homepage has not been updated recently. Instead, you’ll come across the most latest releases of the emulator from the’automatic assembles’ page.
Intro to plugin system
PlayStation 2 emulation revolves around the plug in system. The same system employed by PlayStation 1 plus N64 emulators. PlayStation emulators are only the shell of this surgery.
PCSX2 comes armed with plug-ins, and therefore you don’t have to think about downloading them individually and configuring them manually. I want to review different types of plug-ins with you. It is good to be informed with how the emulator works. Here’s the list of these:
This controls the images and 3D rendering. This controls the way you control your games; whether you use a keyboard or a gamepad. This controls the audio and audio effects.
Be aware you don’t have to stay with the plug-ins which come with PCSX2. You might find better ones out there if you Google around.
The BIOS
The PlayStation 2 BIOS is required to be able to boot matches. This is a separate download once you have downloaded PCSX2. Below you can download this BIOS.
Download from right-clicking the download link and proceed to Save Link As. If you do not see the document extension, consider showing them.
Keep on reading below for things to do after you get into the BIOS.
Setup
Newer versions of PCSX2 are only standalone apps at a zip file. Older versions of PCSX2 install by means of a wizard. I’ll explain both situations.
Setup is simple: simply extract PCSX2 from its zip file. Here’s a video tutorial showing you how to unzip files on Windows.
IMPORTANT! PCSX2 must be placed in a frequent folder on your own PC. I recommend Records , Downloads, or create a folder onto your desktop. If you put PCSX2 somewhere else on your main C drive, then you might be limiting it to unsubscribe accessibility. Doing this prevents PCSX2 from saving anything.
Note the path where the BIOS folder can be situated. Open that folder up. Download the BIOS when you haven’t previously, sew it, and drag its contents to your BIOS folder. It should look something like below:
